The Tutoring Center, Greentrails (Kingsland and Fry)

Tutor helping struggling child with math and science
Our Center Director, Anju Gupta, is a passionate tutor and educator! Her love for interacting with kids and helping them better understand the fundamentals of math and reading led her to tutor kids at a young age while still in high school, and after graduation she obtained a master’s degree in mathematics.

Since then, she has spent over 20 years as a proud resident of the Greentrails neighborhood in the Katy area, spending her free time with her loving husband, daughter, and their cat! Her husband is an engineer and a huge fan of all things James Bond, mission impossible and such. Her daughter is a graduate of Taylor High School and currently a College junior. Finally, her quarantine kitty Dolly is the joy of their household! Most of all, Anju really loves and values the community she has found in Katy. From the support she received from neighbors in the wake of Hurricane Harvey to the amazing friends she has made on daily walks in all the scenic greenery Katy has to offer, she could not be more grateful to live here.

Consequently, serving this community with this Tutoring Center is incredibly important to her because she really values that our kids are empowered with knowledge to achieve their best potential while pursuing their extracurricular interests! She is thrilled to bring Dr Thalheimer’s unique rotational approach to learning to our neighborhood's kids. Come and visit us and chat with Anju to see how we can help foster a lifelong love for learning in your child.

Our instructors are chosen from a pool of graduates with Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree or high performing college students. We also hire exceptional high school seniors with expertise in higher math courses. They are selected through a rigorous interview and internal academic assessment. They serve as an excellent role model and act as a mentor for our students. All of our instructors complete an intensive certification program in our innovative rotational approach to learning. They embody our core principle of I*Quest - Integrity, Quality, Enthusiasm, Service and Teamwork.

Our current roster includes two engineering undergraduate students pursuing degree in Computer science and bio-medical engineering respectively. We also have a high performing High School senior on a pre-med track with high GPA and a number of AP courses. They are from local area schools and very familiar with curriculum and challenges students face. Together with Anju they make a great team to help our students learn in a fun, positive and motivational environment.

Our classrooms feature an intense learning environment that combines “The Rotational Approach to Learning” and One-To-One Instruction. Both methods were developed by Edward S.Thalheimer, Ph.D., founder of THE TUTORING CENTER. Our innovative system gives your child far more One-to-One Instruction than he or she will ever receive in a classroom full of children, or even in a small group.

You have many choices available for your child, and we want you to make the choice that's in your child's best interest. For instance, many schools provide after-school tutoring or intervention programs for students who are having difficulty in school, and maybe your child has been offered one in the past. Even though these programs are free to families, current research indicates that these programs are inefficient and time-consuming. Since they focus mostly on completing your child's homework, they can not offer you a permanent solution. While school-based tutoring may provide your child with short-term homework help, THE TUTORING CENTER's intense One-to-One Instruction and "The Rotational Approach to Learning™" actually provide your child with long-term skills that will last a lifetime.
